ClouDesire leverages the European Commission Future Internet cloud infrastructure

ClouDesire is using the testbed cloud infrastructure provided by the European Project Fed4FIRE to perform large scale simulations and assess the robustness of the platform in specific stress-test scenarios.

ClouDesire is the platform proposed in the MaSTeR project (Test of a Cloud App Marketplace Scalability&Robustness on Fed4FIRE cloud computing testbed) to exploit the IaaS resources of the Fed4FIRE cloud testbed (compute, storage, networking) by executing authoritative performance measurements and service experiments.

The MaSTeR project was selected as one of the winning experiments in the 2nd Competitive Call – Innovative Experiments by SMEs of Fed4FIRE, a research project funded by the European Commission’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) with the goal of accelerating research and development for the realization of new projects in Future Internet. Fed4FIRE brings together the infrastructure developed under previous FIRE projects and provide them to SMEs to test and monitor their products and services.

Fed4FIRE is a unique opportunity to run several stress-tests in a large-scale scenario and simulate the workload of hundreds of users/customers launching a huge number of simultaneous deploys/upgrades/backups requests to the platform, exploiting the infrastructure provided by the European Commission. The simulations made possible with Fed4FIRE, in fact, will consolidate the tests already made by the company, contributing to further improving the product.
